If Duet were an orchestra, Liz would be the conductor—making sure every section is in sync, the tempo stays steady, and the music soars. From ops and HR to finance, marketing, and insurance, she’s the behind-the-scenes force who keeps both Duet Design and Duet Build humming. She partners with Devon and Caleb to turn big-picture dreams into action plans and scalable systems, all while keeping the culture strong and the people growing.
What do you actually do here?
“Basically, I keep the trains running on time. I connect dots across teams, manage vendor relationships, and translate vision into clear steps that everyone can run with. My favorite part is making sure our people feel supported so they can do their best work.”
Favorite part of design or construction
“As a former designer who also loves construction, asking me to choose is cruel. But if pressed—it’s the implementation stage, working hand-in-hand with subs. They’re masters at what they do, and every conversation leaves me smarter than when I started.”
A project that stands out
“The East Coasters’ project was such a highlight. I stepped in as Construction PM and got to collaborate closely with both sides of Duet. Seeing the design vision and build execution lock together was incredible—but watching the clients’ excitement as the final details landed? That was everything.”
Always on her desk
“My reMarkable tablet. I live for lists. Writing things down by hand keeps me grounded and organized. (And yes, I’m that person who adds something I’ve already done to my list just to check it off.)”
You’d never guess this about me…
“I played violin for years, which gave me a deep love of classical music. I’ve even been toying with the idea of taking lessons again.”
What she’s into lately
- PODCAST: Aspire with Emma Grede
- BINGE: The Gilded Age (historical fiction is my kryptonite)
- HOBBY: Cooking—“It’s my form of therapy. Nothing feels better than making a beautiful meal for the people I love.”
Best part of working at Duet
“The learning and the laughter. Everyone here pushes each other to grow and shares knowledge freely. At the same time, we genuinely like each other, which makes the hard work way more fun.”
Her best advice for clients
“Choose your team wisely. You’ll spend a lot of time together, so you want experts you can trust to deliver exceptional work—and people whose company you actually enjoy along the way.”
